A Little Spanglish Pause
Because we could all use a little movement and a little meditation right now.
When we feel helpless, the best salve is to help, and it is necessary to acknowledge how difficult the past few days (weeks) have been as our Black and Brown brothers and sisters and our partners across the globe dedicate themselves, their resources (money, time, a loving heart and ear) to dismantling the systems that keep us all, but predominantly Black and Brown communities, from thriving in the full freedom that is our human right. Yoga teaches us how to derive strength and stability from within, so we can build a better, stronger, freer world for all.
So next Saturday, we will flow a little, breath a little, cry or laugh (judgment free zone) because that is our human right as well. Expect a little flow with sequences grounded in alignment principles, smart movement and a whole lot of heart and philosophy.
All are welcomed. (Not apt for people who take themselves too seriously or don’t like having a good time).
100% of the proceeds from the class will go to Campaign Zero, a police reform group founded by activists associated with Black Lives Matter that has been working on policy solutions “informed by data and human rights principles”.
FEE: Pay what you can
(Fine Print: Suggested minimum $10. Note that industry standard for group classes are generally around $20, but I want to make this as accessible as possible to all. I’d rather have you come than not at all.)
(Even finer print: Note the class is conducted in English with Spanish sprinkled throughout in honor of the instructor roots. Movement transcends language, so join us regardless of familiarity with either of the languages.)
